Rural Minds Youth Train the Presenter training is a blended course, comprising of an online learning component and a 1 day practical workshop.

Foundation training is a self-directed online course that can be completed anytime, anywhere. The course will introduce you to the Rural Minds Youth program, describe the role and responsibilities of a Presenters, and aims to familiarise you with the workshop lesson, videos, and content.

The practical workshop is a in person group learning experience. The workshop aims aims to provide you with the understanding, confidence and essential knowledge required to deliver Rural Minds Youth workshops in your community.

Before you were able to log in today, you were sent a registration email including a pre-training survey link. The information we gather through our training surveys helps us learn how effective the lessons were and identify areas for improvement.

If you haven’t already, we ask that you complete the survey before getting started.

Now you’re ready to get started.

  1. This course has numerous lessons and topics. You’ll move through the order they appear in the menu.
  2. To complete topics, click the ‘mark complete’ button. This will allow you to move forward. Once you complete a topic you will see a tick appear in the menu and ‘complete’ appear at the top of the page.
  3. We have included Lesson Plans, videos, and workshop content to assist you to lead a Rural Minds workshop. It’s pretty comprehensive so it’s important that you read and become familiar with the information before you attend a practical workshop.
  4. Throughout this course and to support your ongoing development we encourage you to visit the online community of practice. The online community is an interactive online space where you can network, communicate, share ideas, and learn through conversations with other members of our national Presenter network.

Many of us may know someone who may be living with mental illness, struggling with suicidal thoughts, or who may have died by suicide. Despite the strengths you have, we are not immune to the challenges. If there are moments throughout training or afterwards, we remind you to take care of yourself. So if you need to take a break from this course and come back, your progress will be recorded.
