Pyrenees Hideout Festival to support Rural and Remote Mental Health
Rural and Remote Mental Health are honoured to be the charity of choice for the upcoming Pyrenees Hideout Festival on the 11th of February in the Pyrenees Region of Victoria.
The one-day multi-stage event will include an impressive lineup of musical artists including Daryl Braithwaite, Kasey Chambers, The Black Sorrows and more. The event is open to all ages and will take place at the Goldfields Recreation Reserve in Beaufort.
Frank Venuto, from GAP Events, previously worked on the annual Rainbow Serpent Festival which was cancelled in 2020 due to the Australian bushfires of 2019. The area suffered significant financial setbacks and the mental health of locals remains a concern due to the loss of work and the increased isolation as a result of COVID.
A portion of proceeds from the event will be donated to Rural & Remote Mental Health and will aid in funding the facilitation of RRMH’s tailored mental health workshops in the area. Frank felt that the organisation’s values aligned with the festival and its purpose.
“The idea for the Pyrenees Hideout Festival is something we had in the background while running the Rainbow Serpent Festival. We felt it was important to provide an event that was more suited to the local community’s tastes and interests, “said Frank.
“Given the difficulties of the last few years and the very apparent significant impact on rural and naturally more isolated and less serviced areas, we did some research and found RRMH. We thought it was the perfect fit to help raise awareness in our region and hopefully assist in putting a plan together for support in our area.”
RRMH CEO, Joe Hooper, will be attending the event to speak on behalf of the organisation and liaise with Frank and others to arrange workshops in the area.
“This festival is an opportunity for the community to connect, share and enjoy together. We are honoured to be chosen as the charity of choice and share in this event while also raising donations and awareness to help support the mental health and well-being of the community,” said Joe.
